The Brandon DeMesy Brown Friendship Award is presented annually to the skater who best exemplifies the qualities which make a friend:

A friend should be honest.

A friend should respect others ideas and feelings.

A friend should be kind to other friends.

A friend who is thoughtful is a friend to keep.

A friend who shares makes a good friend.

Nominations for this award are made each year by the coaches and members of the Braemar-City of Lakes Figure Skating Club, and voted upon by the entire club membership.
